The newly improved Metabolic Fitness Program is now offered in the evenings and has been designed to better support lifestyle change. Metabolic Syndrome is a collection of health risks such as obesity, high blood pressure, high fasting sugar and high cholesterol that can increase the chance that you'll develop heart disease, stroke, kidney disease and diabetes. These risk factors can be reduced or eliminated with positive lifestyle changes. The Metabolic Fitness Program combines exercise, nutrition, stress management and strategies for behavior change in a supportive group atmosphere. We have extended the duration of the program from three to six months (in two three-month blocks) to support better outcomes. Our admission policy now accommodates new referrals monthly, thereby reducing wait time to start. This physician-referred program meets Tuesdays from 5:30 - 7 p.m. at Cardiovascular Medicine at Domino's Farms. Visit our Web site for more information.
