My research focuses on understanding the pathophysiology of fibromyalgia, a chronic pain disorder. I am studying both excitatory and inhibitory brain mechanisms that may be responsible for the enhanced pain these patients experience, as well as how these mechanisms are altered by complementary therapies such as acupuncture.
