Dr. Corbett explores quantification of cardiac structure and global and regional perfusion and function by means of three-dimensional analytic methods applied to SPECT imaging data. His goal is to improve the detection of early coronary artery disease. His analytical methods can generally be applied to imaging strategies where both time course data and boundary identification are crucial.
Using PET radiotracers, Dr. Corbett is involved in the study and development of coronary perfusion, perfusion reserve and neuronal innervation of the myocardium. Using 3-D quantification techniques these studies are applied to patients with clinical and pre-clinical coronary heart disease and patients with ventricular arrhythmias, congestive heart failure and diabetes.
