Dr. Helms is engaged in clinical research that uses advanced cardiovascular imaging, including echocardiography and magnetic resonance imaging, to better understand the diagnostic and pathophysiologic characteristics of both hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy. He is also currently developing expertise in molecular biology and genetics research with a primary focus on mechanisms of disease expression and arrhythmias in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
