C. S. Mott Children's Hospital
Pulmonary Hypertension
Our Pulmonary Hypertension Program offers coordinated and comprehensive evaluation, treatment and follow-up for pediatric patients with pulmonary hypertension.
Our team sees patients from the neonatal period through young adulthood who have suspected or previously documented pulmonary hypertension.
Patients will be examined and assessed thoroughly with ancillary testing, which may include some, if not all, of the following tests or procedures:
- cardiac catheterization
- chest X-ray
- echocardiogram
- EKG
- six-minute walking test if formal exercise testing cannot be performed
Based on test results, we will recommend appropriate therapy that encompasses all of the most advanced medical treatments.
We base follow-up clinical evaluations on the severity of the illness and the patient's response to treatments.
All physicians on the pulmonary hypertension team are members of the national Pulmonary Hypertension Association.
