Pediatric Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (PCTU)

The Pediatric Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit is a 15-bed, state-of-the-art medical and surgical intensive care unit dedicated to the collaborative management of infants, children and adults with congenital heart disease or heart disease acquired during childhood. Located on the 5th floor of C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, the unit is staffed by a team of experienced and knowledgeable health care providers who are dedicated to providing outstanding clinical care in a safe, supportive and family-centered environment. Our staff physicians and nurses maintain a strong commitment to continuing education and training in pediatric cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery, and to research, including quality assessment and program improvement. Our PCTU has served as a national model for the development of cardiac intensive care units treating children with heart disease.
