Neonatal Follow-up/Developmental Assessment

The Neonatal Follow-up Program provides developmental screening and follow up care to high-risk infants from birth to age 3. Infants who were born prematurely, who were very sick at birth, or who are referred from their private physicians are eligible for this program. A multidisciplinary team works together to provide consultative care to parents and their infants. In order to promote optimal development, follow-up evaluations and intervention is recommended for early identification of developmental delay and emerging handicaps. This type of follow-up differs from the routine medical care infants receive from private pediatricians.
