Pediatric Trauma Center
Traumatic injuries disable and kill more children than all other diseases combined. Childhood injuries produce enormous losses in the quality of life and future productivity.
C.S. Mott Children's Hospital is one of 13 Level I Pediatric Trauma Centers in the country verified by the American College of Surgeons to care for the most seriously injured children. Verified trauma centers must meet essential criteria to ensure timely, comprehensive care for the traumatized child to ensure reintegration of that child back into the family and community.
From pre-hospital and emergency care to rehabilitation and prevention, our status as a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center provides the community with the highest level of expertise in care of the injured child through research and education.
