Liver Transplant

The Pediatric specialty group of the University of Michigan Health System is the only center in the state of Michigan performing liver transplantation in children. Approximately 35 children are evaluated every year for transplantation and 12-16 children undergo transplantation. We provide care to these children who often have complex medical conditions and social history with a multidisciplinary approach. Our Liver Transplant Multidisciplinary Team consists of highly skilled and qualified specialists including pediatric gastroenterologists, surgeons, dieticians, nurse specialists, and social workers.
