Our Clinical Microbiology/Virology Laboratory offers a wide range of services for the serology, culture and/or identification of bacteria, mycobacteria, fungi, parasites, mycoplasma and viruses. We offer a number of evaluations not widely available at other facilities, including AFB cultures, anaerobic cultures, chlamydia/Neisseria gonorrhea urogenital and urine testing by DNA amplification.
We perform special antimicrobic susceptibility tests, including MBC and SBT, HIV viral load testing, mycoplasma cultures, fungal immunodiffusion studies and aerobic organism quantification in tissue samples.
We offer our services to patients at all U-M Hospitals, and to other hospitals and physicians on a reference laboratory basis.
