Urology - Pediatric

Pediatric Urology is a urological and surgical specialty that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of abnormalities involving the kidneys, ureters, bladder, urethra and the reproductive organs of children. Our pediatric urologists are board-certified urologists who have completed additional training in the evaluation and treatment of urological problems in children. They have developed special skills in working with the physiology of children and the conditions related to their genitourinary functions. These range from those which affect fetuses to older adolescents on the verge of adulthood. For example, we commonly consult and treat newborn babies who were diagnosed as fetuses as having a swollen kidney (antenatal hydronephrosis) and teenagers with varicose veins in the scrotum (varicoceles). Here is a list of some of the conditions that our Pediatric Urology team regularly treats:

We work closely with our colleagues in pediatric Anesthesiology, Nephrology, Oncology, Radiology and other pediatric specialties to offer a multi-disciplinary approach. Should you, your family or family physician desire a consultation with our pediatric urology team, please contact us by phone at (248) 888-9000.
