Apnea and Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD) Program
Director: Amy Goldstein Filbrun, M.D.
The Comprehensive Apnea and Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia Program combines the expertise of board-certified pediatric pulmonologists, neonatologists, nurses, dieticians, respiratory therapists and researchers, all working in consultation with general pediatricians to improve the outcomes of infants with developmental respiratory problems such as apnea and bronchopulmonary dysplasia. BPD is a disease of abnormal lung growth and development following very preterm birth. With the use of newer treatments, (for example, prenatal steroids and exogenous surfactant), smaller, more premature infants are now surviving. BPD Program services include:
-
Medical management of BPD
-
Medical management of infants with apnea
-
Multi-channel respiratory analyses
- Infant lung function testing.
