Physical Therapy

Medical Director: Jocelyn Eve Wiggins, B.M., B.Ch.

Physical therapy helps to decrease pain and restore strength and range of motion. A health care provider may recommend physical therapy after an injury or surgery to promote full recovery. Physical therapy is also used to teach people how to move properly to prevent injuries. The goals of physical therapy are to improve mobility (such as walking, going up stairs, or getting in and out of bed), to relieve pain and to restore physical function and overall fitness. Depending on the injury, disease, or condition, an older adult may need to work on flexibility, strength, endurance, coordination, and/or balance.
