Neuromodulation Program

Patients dealing with chronic pain and spasticity receive care from specialists in our Neuromodulation program. We evaluate patients to determine the best course of treatment and provide on-going support and management for patients who undergo surgery. We use the most current and sophisticated devices, including pain pumps which administer medications direction around the spinal cord and Deep Brain Stimulators which directly stimulate portions of the spinal cord or brain.
The U-M Department of Neurosurgery is committed to remaining at the forefront of chronic pain and spasticity research, and bringing the most advanced and effective treatments from bench to bedside.
