The University of Michigan Anticoagulation Service's goal is to provide safe and effective management of chronic warfarin therapy as prescribed by direct care providers to patients at risk of thrombosis. The Anticoagulation staff also assist direct care providers seeking advice on the optimal management of patients requiring anticoagulant therapy, provide patient education, and coordinate the periodic monitoring and dose adjustment of warfarin and other anticoagulant drugs.
