Child and Adolescent Psychiatry - Hospital-Based Pediatric Liaison

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Consultation Liaison service provides consultation to pediatricians for psychiatric difficulties seen in children admitted to C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. Our services are sought when, for example, hospitalized children appear depressed or suicidal, refuse to eat, or have extreme reactions to their medical illness, treatment or hospitalization. In addition to interviewing the child, our consultant meets with the child's parents or guardians and with the staff caring for the child to help devise a treatment plan. In some cases, we provide ongoing psychiatric treatment to the hospitalized child and the child's family.
