Neurosurgery Patient Care Services

The U-M Department of Neurosurgery provides a broad range of services for adult and pediatric patients. We have specialized expertise in brain tumors, cerebrovascular diseases, aneurysms, degenerative disc disease, epilepsy, head and spinal cord injury, movement disorders, peripheral nerve disorders, pituitary disorders and spinal disease.

Because the University of Michigan Medical School is part of our Health System, our patients benefit from accessibility to some of the best research and education in the country, including that coming out of our Crosby Neurosurgical Laboratory. The CNL is staffed with more than 20 scientists working on a variety of neurosurgical problems, including programs for comprehensive stroke care as part of our internationally renowned Stroke Program.

Our faculty bridge the gap between laboratory and operating room to provide patients with the most advanced treatment available. And our neurosurgical residency programs are among the best in the country, featuring a seven-year program that includes clinical and laboratory training.
