Radiology Patient Care Services
The Department of Radiology provides diagnostic radiology services for University of Michigan Health System outpatients and inpatients. Emergency radiology services are available 24 hours a day in the University Hospital. Plain film radiographic examinations are offered on a walk-in basis, Monday through Friday at the A. Alfred Taubman Health Care Center and our four off-site imaging centers in Brighton, Canton, Livonia, East Ann Arbor and Briarwood. CT, MR, ultrasound, nuclear medicine and mammographic examinations are scheduled by appointment.
The department is actively conducting many clinical research projects in the areas of advanced ultrasonographic applications, computed tomography (CT), position emission tomography (PET), magnetic resonance imaging, contrast agent development, computerized imaging analysis, breast imaging and vascular/interventional radiology.
The Department of Radiology welcomes physician inquiries, which should be directed to the specific imaging division or the department chair.
