Myomectomy
Myomectomy is the removal of fibroid tumors off the uterus. Dependent on the size and the location of the fibroids, there are several methods that can be used for this.
- Abdominal Myomectomy - for large fibroids this is the usual approach. An abdominal incision is performed and the fibroids are cut off the uterus. After the fibroids are removed the uterus is sewn together with sutures.
