Dr. Menon received his Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry from Boston University in 1967 under the direction of the pioneering steroid hormone researcher, Dr. Ralph J. Dorfman. He did his post-doctoral studies in molecular biology under Nobel Laureate Dr. Michael Smith at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. He was recruited to the University of Michigan in the Departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Biological Chemistry to be the Director of the Gynecologic Endocrine laboratory. He has served as the interim chariman of the Department of Biological Chemistry and was a member of the NIH Endocrinology Study. He has been the recipient of NIH Grants continuously for over 25 years. His current research focueses on the biochemistry and endocrinology of the ovary and the mechanism of hormone action.
