ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Women’s Health Program of the University of Michigan Health System will present three events in April that highlight a variety of health issues faced by women.

1. Judy Norsigian, co-author of several books in the “Our Bodies Ourselves” series, will speak from 7-9 p.m. April 3 at Borders in Arborland, 3527 Washtenaw Ave. in Ann Arbor. The main topic of the discussion will be menopause, though all versions of “Our Bodies Ourselves” will be available for purchase.

Norsigian is executive director and a founder of the Boston Women's Health Book Collective, which does business under the name Our Bodies Ourselves, and is a co-author of “Our Bodies, Ourselves,” “Our Bodies, Ourselves: Menopause” and “Our Bodies, Ourselves: Pregnancy and Birth.” She has appeared on numerous national television and radio programs, including “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”

2. Ways to prevent and treat depression and diabetes will be the topic at “Promoting Latina Women's Wellness and Health,” 12:30 p.m. April 6 at the First United Methodist Church of Ypsilanti, 209 Washtenaw Ave., Ypsilanti. Presenters are Joanne Motino Bailey, CNM, Ph.D.—director of the Nurse-Midwifery Services at the U-M Health System – and Sara Frost, M.D., a physician at the U-M Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

3. “Chronic Pain, Fatigue and Fibromyalgia: Real Conditions, Real Answers” will be the topic of an event from 6:30-7:30 p.m. April 17 at the Washtenaw Library Learning Resource Center, 4135 Washtenaw Ave., Ann Arbor.

Dan Clauw, M.D., will make a presentation about chronic pain and fatigue, including fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. Clauw, who is executive director of the Chronic Pain and Fatigue Research Center at U-M, is world-renowned in this field
