Neck Pain

Suggested Pre-Referral Evaluation and Management Guidelines Complete H/P to rule out serious causes (tumor, infection, fracture)
Minimal rest with return to activity
Determine if symptoms of radiculopathy are present
Suggested Additional Test/Management Prior to Specialty Visit Imaging Studies -X-ray with AP, lateral and oblique views, CT, MRI (gold standard)
Neck pain greater than three months we recommend an MRI
Relevant past medical history
Referral to U of M Back & Pain Center
