Hyperthyroidism

| Suggested Pre-Referral Evaluation and Management Guidelines |
Consider general causes of hyperthyroidism:
- Graves' disease
- Toxic nodule/ multinodular goiter
- Thyroiditis
- Drug effect (e.g., over replacement)

| Suggested Additional Test/Management Prior to Specialty Visit |
TSH, FreeT4, and FreeT3 levels.
No imaging study is required before the appointment.
If necessary, thyroid uptake and scan should be ordered to differentiate the etiology of hyperthyroidism.
