Hyperthyroidism
Suggested Pre-Referral Evaluation and Management Guidelines Consider general causes of hyperthyroidism:
- Graves' disease
- Toxic nodule/ multinodular goiter
- Thyroiditis
- Drug effect (e.g., over replacement)
Suggested Additional Test/Management Prior to Specialty Visit TSH, FreeT4, and FreeT3 levels.
No imaging study is required before the appointment.
If necessary, thyroid uptake and scan should be ordered to differentiate the etiology of hyperthyroidism.
