Suggested Pre-Referral Evaluation and Management Guidelines
1) Appropriate use of inhaled anticholinergics with B-agonists and inhaled steroids
2) Objective measures of severity with spirometry and peak flow
3) Global Initiative For Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease
Suggested Additional Test/Management Prior to Specialty Visit
1) Chest x-ray
2) Spirometry
3) 6 minute walk test to assess for hypoxia in moderate or symptomatic COPD
