Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus

| Suggested Pre-Referral Evaluation and Management Guidelines |
Primary eye care, comprehensive evaluations, inpatient consultations, and follow-up for children with eye and/or vision disorders, such as amblyopia, lacrimal disorders, strabismus, glaucoma, ocular cancers, cataracts, and inherited eye disease. Management of congenital and juvenile acquired cataracts, emphasizing comprehensive follow-up to monitor vision development, prevent amblyopia, fit special pediatric aphakic contact lenses, and a full range of orthoptic services. Strabismus patients (children and adults) receive comprehensive management of eye muscle imbalance from orthoptists who offer special eye measurement tests as well as treatment with glasses, prisms, and/or muscle exercises.
