Concerns regarding speech sound production or articulation, ability to understand speech, including following directions, vocabulary development, and ability to use speech to name items, express needs and engage in age-appropriate conversation: Consider referral to local intermediate school district or Early On for initial eval. Provide copies to consultant.
Resonance (nasality heard in speech, whether hyponasal or hypernasal (velopharyngeal dysfunction): obtain UM speech language pathology evaluation with nasometry prior to appointment.
Behavioral, play and social skills as they relate to language development: Speech language pathology evaluation. Consider Behavioral Pediatrics evaluation.
