Antenatal Hydronephrosis
Suggested Pre-Referral Evaluation and Management Guidelines Call pediatric Urology via MLINE for ALL bilateral hydronephrosis (day of life #1)

For unilateral hydronephrosis with normal-appearing contralateral kidney Renal/Bladder Ultrasound should be done between 7-14 days of life.

Start prophylactic antibiotics (amoxicillin 20mg/kg/day).
Suggested Additional Test/Management Prior to Specialty Visit RUS on day of life 7-14
Patient Education/Information (includes preps) Hydronephrosis
VCUG
Appointment Timeframe Refer to urology (moderate to severe dilation) or nephrology (minimal or mild dilatation) for appointment at approximately 1 month of age. Patient will get a repeat ultrasound with appointment and possible VCUG
