Hypertension
Suggested Pre-Referral Evaluation and Management Guidelines BP should be measured with appropriate technique on 3 separate occasions to confirm elevated BP

BP criteria
Suggested Additional Test/Management Prior to Specialty Visit 1) Comprehensive metabolic panel, CBC
2) FT4, TSH
3) Renal ultrasound
4) UA and micro, urine sodium, protein and creatinine
Patient Education/Information (includes preps) High Blood Pressure and Chronic Kidney Disease in Children

Most patients with hypertension will require frequent or home blood pressure monitoring
Appointment Timeframe Stage II hypertension warrants urgent evaluation within a week- if symptomatic ER referral may be indicated. Stage I hypertension 4-8 weeks or next available
