Kidney Stone
Suggested Pre-Referral Evaluation and Management Guidelines If symptomatic: refer to urology or ED. Many stones will need a nephrology and urology management plan. If stone size is:

< 2 mm Nephrology for metabolic work up
> 2 mm Nephrology for metabolic work up Urology for pain management plan
> 5mm Urology referral Nephrology referral
Suggested Additional Test/Management Prior to Specialty Visit 1) Renal ultrasound
2) UA, urine calcium, urine creatinine, urine Na
Patient Education/Information (includes preps) Nutrition counseling (low sodium diet and hydration)
Appointment Timeframe Next available or 4-8 weeks. We will arrange a quality full 24 hour stone profile prior to clinic visit.
