Weakness
Suggested Pre-Referral Evaluation and Management Guidelines
  		• If proximal and symmetric consider myopathy. Review medications for steroid and or statins. Consider discontinuing
  		• If associated with facial weakness, ptosis or dysphagia, consider neuromuscular disorder, such as myasthenia gravis or motor neuron disease, such as ALS. Refer to Neurology Neuromuscular Clinic
  		• Consider diabetes and other causes of peripheral neuropathy
  		• Consider HIV risk
    Suggested Additional Test/Management Prior to Specialty Visit
  		• EMG
  		• Consider CBC, LFTS, CPK, WESR, TSH, T4, fasting glucose, Hgb A1C, renal function
  		• Consider HIV if risks warrant
