Fecal Incontinence

| Suggested Pre-Referral Evaluation and Management Guidelines |
All fecal incontinence patients should be referred to the Michigan Bowel Control program first. Those with anatomic abnormalities-sphincter defect, prolapse-will be referred to CRS for repair. Those who fail all treatment measures may ultimately be referred to CRS for diverting ostomy.
