Thyroid Cancer
Suggested Pre-Referral Evaluation and Management Guidelines
Referral is indicated
 - if diagnosis is suspected or has been established by FNA, lymph node biopsy or other surgical procedure
 - or if patient has recurrent or metastatic disease in the neck by palpation, ultrasound, and/or thyroglobulin elevation

We follow the guidelines of the American Thyroid Association.
Suggested Additional Test/Management Prior to Specialty Visit
 - Fine Needle Aspirate result if done
 - Bring cytology slides if there is a question about diagnosis
 - If previously operated on, bring operative and anatomic pathology reports
 - Thyroid ultrasound and Fine Needle Aspiration can be done by Endocrine Surgery at clinic visit
