Colon polyps (benign)

Suggested Pre-Referral Evaluation and Management Guidelines
Referral is indicated if:
- Polyp is too large or cannot be safely removed by endoscopic procedure
- Villous adenoma
- Multiple polyps
Suggested Additional Test/Management Prior to Specialty Visit Records should be sent to clinician for review prior to visit.

- Colonoscopy w/ report
- Pathology report of biopsy
- Pathology slides and report if available
- It is helpful if location of polyp has been marked by tattooing colon circumferentially at site of polyp
Patient Education/Information (includes preps)  
Appointment Timeframe Within 6 weeks
How to Get Results to Consultant Any records that are received should be given to consultant to review prior to clinic visit.
