Suggested Pre-Referral Evaluation and Management Guidelines
1)Promote physical activity
2)Intermittent leg elevation
3)Wear compression surgical support stockings (20-30mmHg pressure-graded knee high stockings) generally appropriate

Treatment for Cosmetic Concerns/Spider Veins:
  • Refer to UM Livonia or Troy Center for Specialty Care Vein Center
    Suggested Additional Test/Management Prior to Specialty Visit
    1)Complete Venous Reflux Study at U of M Diagnostic Vascular Lab on the same day
    2)Patients may self-refer
    Patient Education/Information (includes preps) Venous Disease
