Lymphoma
| Suggested Pre-Referral Evaluation and Management Guidelines |
| Suggested Additional Test/Management Prior to Specialty Visit |
Patients referred to the Lymphoma Clinic should already have a diagnosis of lymphoma. If lymphoma is suspected, a lymph node biopsy or biopsy of a mass must be done showing pathologic confirmation of Hodgkin¿s or Non-Hodgkin¿s lymphoma. If an FNA (fine needle aspirate) yields a diagnosis of lymphoma an excisional biopsy may not be needed, however, often an excisional biopsy is needed for such classification. To complete staging, a CAT scan of the chest/abdomen/pelvis is required prior to the Lymphoma clinic appointment to facilitate treatment planning.
