Suggested Pre-Referral Evaluation and Management Guidelines 1) Stiff soled shoes
2) Wider toe box shoes
3) Carbon Fiber insole (orthotic)
Suggested Additional Test/Management Prior to Specialty Visit None
Patient Education/Information (includes preps)
1)Joint replacements for the 1st MTP (great toe) are not successful and will not be performed.
2)A cheilectomy (removal of the "bump") or fusion can be performed to alleviate the pain.
