NSAID's

Oral steroid taper

Extension based PT program
4)
Epidural injection through the Spine Program
Suggested Additional Test/Management Prior to Specialty Visit
1) MRI
2) CT/Myelogram if patient unable to obtain MRI
Patient Education/Information (includes preps)
1) 90% of disk herniations improve without surgery
2) Non operative treatments serve to temporize symptoms as radiculopathy improve
Appointment Timeframe
1) Urgent for progressive weakness
2) Emergent for associated bowel/bladder dysfunction
