Suggested Pre-Referral Evaluation and Management Guidelines
If significant dyspnea, refer to nearest ER.
Local ENT to evaluate for safety of patient for outpatient evaluation, and diagnosis confirmation.
If stenosis below level of the clavicle refer to thoracic surgery.
Suggested Additional Test/Management Prior to Specialty Visit
Dedicated laryngeal and tracheal airway CT if available, or CT of the neck and chest with IV contrast.
Patient Education/Information (includes preps)
If patient has tracheostomy, evaluation within 6 weeks.
If no tracheostomy, and stable for outpatient evaluation, appointment within 2-4 weeks.
Request Phone consult via M Line prior to office visit to alert physicians of patient's status.
