Suggested Pre-Referral Evaluation and Management Guidelines
Referral is indicated if:

Patient has biopsy proven cancer in rectum ( < 15 from anal verge).
Colonoscopy and Pathology report will be needed.
If patient not in UMH System, pathology glass slides with report to be available at or before clinic visit if not already reviewed here by Pathology.

Suggested Additional Test/Management Prior to Specialty Visit
Additional tests which may be ordered:

CT scan with oral and IV contrast, chest, abdomen, pelvis, within 6 weeks - report and images (prefer CD) available for clinic visit

Endoscopic ultrasound (rectum)

Labs: comprehensive panel, CBCP, PT, PTT, CEA
