Suggested Pre-Referral Evaluation and Management Guidelines
Obtain CBC, platelet count, corrected reticulocyte count, vitamin B12 level, red blood cell folate level, and liver function tests.
Schedule consult with hematology faculty who see benign disorders if B12 or folate deficient; otherwise schedule consult with any specific docs in Hematology division.
